Mother of all component shortages.

Post by Toepopper »

Since the election on Nov 3 there has been a shortage of reloading components, like none anywhere in the country. Primers and powder are a thing of the past. Projectiles are hit and miss. Store shelves are empty. In the Sportsman's Warehouse in Roseburg Oregon they have removed the shelves that once held powder and primers and restocked the walls with back packs. Primers are being auctioned on Guns America for a starting bid of $90. per box of 1000. This is crazy expensive, a box of primers sold for $28 per thousand before the election. This is why any re-loader should stock up when times are good so as not to be caught short of components when things dry up. Currently there are only 2 primer manufacturers in the country and they are running 3 shifts to try to keep up with the demand. They claim all the primers are being used to manufacture new ammunition so none are making it to the re-loading market.
