"Past" Mag Recoil Pad Shield

Post by Toepopper »

I recently bought a recoil shield for rifle shooting to lessen the pain of firing a rifle for extended periods of time. Made by the "Past" company, its a leather wrapped pad filled with one half inch of energy absorbing foam that is strapped into position over the shoulder where you would place the butt stock of a rifle. There are 2 straps, one wraps around your back and the other goes under your arm to hold the pad in place. It took some getting use to but I felt no pain after firing a 308 bolt gun for several hours while sighting in 3 scopes. It did not interfere with the placement of the rifle while I was shooting from a bench and also the prone position. This is a good, inexpensive accessory to add to your pack for all day rifle shooting or practice, especially if you are old and brittle and can't tolerate the pain anymore.
