Coffee grinder
Coffee grinder
I have some whole bean coffee in our pantry and if we loose power I will need to hand grind it. Does anyone know what I should look for in a hand cranked grinder (make, etc)? Or do I just look for any old one at a garage sale?
Re: Coffee grinder
Like you, I only store coffee beans and I had the same issue. The new manual grinders are okay. I have a wooden one I bought at the local hardware (too tiny) that works okay and I have a plastic one that I actually bought from Avon's clearance book that does pretty good. This spring, I bought an old coffee grinder from the flea market and it is a GEM! I can honestly say if you can find one of the old ones...check it out well but it is the best type to have on hand.

Like you 308, I prefer the course ground coffee. It does taste better.
