I bought two more cases of MRE’s last weekend as I’m cycling through my old ones.

Even though it is expensiver than hades, I filled a 5-gallon can with gasoline and added a bottle of Stabile. This sits in the garage and is not touched under any circumstances except in an extreme emergency. My grandson wanted to use some of it last year for the lawn mower and I told him if he did, I would kick him in the butt.

The second thing, though putting us in debt a little, is that we traded in our Ford Focus (24MPG) and bought a Toyota Prius (50+MPG). It is a joy to drive and I am learning how to keep the MPG over 45MPG.

No matter what happens, I am not going to let the bastards beat me! :duel:

Unfortunately, with my Mom's health issues being treated and not covered by insurance, I have not been able to prepare much. I did go to an estate sale last weekend in the last hour when they take offers and reduce everything at least 50% and bought 66 mostly wide mouth quart jars for $7. I also bought a brand new but probably 1950's still in the box hand saw for $2 and a new craftsman shovel for the same price. Oh...they had a dehumidifier running in the basement that they sold me for $2.50. It is now running in my basement!

Haven't been out buying much this month. I have, however, been out looking for a roto-tiller to help me get a garden going maybe. I figure that the Lowe's and Home Depot stores would have a tiller or two left from last season that they'd reduce the price to get it out of stock. Haven't found one yet but I haven't stopped looking either. There are several of the small Mantis type cultivators and some small, 12" width, name brand tillers available but they're not what I want.

I gathered a couple of cases of MRE's to stow in the basement. I also started a BOB for each of my 4 family members. I went through a bunch of my camping and military gear that I have accumulated over the years and set extra stuff aside with the bags. My wife and I have been talking more and more about preparedness so she is moving forward on canning and food storage.
