Buteyko Method
Buteyko Method
“Laws are made for the weak more than the strong.” Ben Franklin
When your child has an asthma attack
I learned of this method from the television show "Quantum Leap" of all places.
A baby on the show was having a fit of asthma and the doctor doing the time jumps gives the child coffee to stop the attack and allow the child to breathe. It seems the caffeine does the work by relaxing the constriction in the lungs and throat to allow easier breathing.
Only thing about this treatment is it will not work on a continuous basis, usually for the first attack and rarely will it work for any after that one. Also, the coffee needs to be at a consumable temperature for the child. If it's hot like when adults drink it, you're adding to the child's problem.
Basically, it is a quick response treatment to allow some relief until you can get the child to a doctor for a decent diagnosis and to begin regular treatment.
