compression bags for storing clothes, bedding, cloth, etc

Post by fern »

There is a chain store here called Ollie's. I do not know if they are everywhere or not since I had never seen one before moving to PA. Anyway, they sell the compression bags very inexpensively. I bought a couple previously somewhere paying $7 each. Ollie's sells them depending on the size for $4 to $7 for 3 in a box! It certainly makes for easy storage without taking up much space. My five foot tall pile of bedding is about 6 inches tall now. My next goal is to get clothing for everyone put away in as many sizes as possible. K-Mart often has $1.50 bath towels that I keep picking up, washing and storing too. Remnants of cloth is always inexpensive at any fabric store.

My wife bought some of those, the 3 in a box type , at a store called BiMart. They have great deals. I have never heard of Ollies so it must be a local PA thing. These compression bags work great. The air is removed by using a standard vacuum cleaner hose attachment and the bag shrinks down to about one fifth its original size. We have had to open one of the bags to retrieve some blankets and they were fine with no musty smell and we reused the bag and placed it under the bed.
