INSULFOAM GARAGE DOOR KIT

Post by Toepopper »

I have a 9' wide folding garage door on my attached garage, which I have converted into a rec room. Last winter I placed a small electric heater in this garage to try and keep the chill out but doing this raised my electric bill $200 in one month so I stopped the attempt to heat this room. Most of the heat loss was through the garage door so I purchased an Insulfoam garage door insulation kit to install on the door. It cost $55 at Lowes which seemed like a lot of money for some styrofoam panels but after I installed it on the door I noticed an immediate difference in the temperature of the garage. The insulating panels are 1 1/4" thick and have an R value of 5. They come with a vinyl cover that leaves a nice finished look when the job is done. This kit also helped soundproof the garage and when I raise and lower the door it is now much quieter.
