Deadwood Stove

Post by fern »

Was looking at youtube videos and came across this stove. Is anyone familiar with it? It looks fairly simple but I have not yet looked into the cost.

The first red flag I noticed was that the legs aren't very far apart, the unit looks top heavy and it could be pushed over by rampaging children and cause someone to get burned and start a forest fire. Also, you would never be able to pack this thing around on your back, a vehicle would be needed to move it. As an outdoor cookstove in a permanent camp it would work good in the eastern states where the threat of fire is much less than it is in the western states. You light that thing in the dry western summers and you will produce a forest fire for sure.
