Scorching temperatures have ruined the commercial fruit growers harvest this year in the Pacific Northwest. One quarter of the cherry harvest in Washington State has been destroyed by never seen before heat. The fruit was cooked right on the trees. Here in Oregon my backyard red raspberry crop was destroyed by 112 degree temperatures, the berries being stunted and fried on the canes. Many berry plants have crinkled up and died from the extreme heat. Half grown apples are baked on the side facing the sun. Expect fruit prices to go up due to shortages caused by this heat wave.
