A " PELTON WHEEL " is what you need. It is nothing but a 100 amp Chevy pick up truck alternator with plastic fins mounted on the pulley. You aim a hose nozzle at the fins, turn on the water and it starts spinning. The higher your water source in elevation, the more pressure which spins the alternator faster giving more output to your batteries. These are reliable systems but the water source must be above the Pelton Wheel . Most homesites are above the stream or river to avoid floods. Most solar or alternate energy stores have info on these systems. Or, google Harris Hydroelectric.
