I saw this on another forum I visit. My wife, who likes to get a jump on the garden, saw a picture of it and told me we were going to make one. It is very simple construction, even a sad carpenter like me can do it.
Here's a picture:
It is a 2x4 frame with three shelves. The boxes to hold the flats are simple 1x4 structures. A plywood sheet is attchaed to the 1x4 box, then anchored to the frame. Chain hangs on the sides and the flourescent lights use "S" hooks to hang from the chain, making them adjustable.
We made a few changes to the original design, some because we couldn't get the lumber dimensions called for, some because it simplified construction. One option we added was casters so that it could roll on the floor and be moved easily.
