The Riverton city council gave the go-ahead to citizens to keep chickens in their backyards within city limits. I followed this closely because it is a trend all over the country. The police chief's quote was: 'I don't think I have EVER heard a complaint about chickens.' There are some caveats though. No roosters. Not more than 6 chickens. I was also a little bit proud of city council when the chairman said that they had no desire or intention into taking away peoples' rights to provide for themselves or their family. They also wrote NO regulations and left it up to the citizenry to police themselves.
