Here is an inexpensive tool/insturment to store in your faraday cage that will be in demand to check solar panel or pelton wheel voltages when connecting this equipment . It will eliminate guesswork and tell you the condition of your 12 volt battery when the CB quits working. Mine cost $29 at Radio Shack and I also picked up a box of spare fuses for it. The small handheld model measures AC generator or grid current as well as DC voltage in a battery bank.
