I have used Stable for years and have never encountered any problems with the fuel going bad in a gas can or engine. I have had problems with carburetors that didn’t have Stable fuel in them, especially two cycle engines. Gasoline is too expensive to not use it.

I've heard this from engine people that if you store gasoline for an extended period of time you need to add a fuel stabilizer (such as Stable) to it to keep it usable with few problems.
